Scan must be full-sized, minimum 300dpi, jpg., rgb file. Check "settings" for your scanner or have the photo scanned for you at a copy center. Most copy centers will charge you just a few dollars to provide a disc with your photo file on it, and they will have no trouble meeting the scan requirements (at least 300dpi,rgb,jpg)
To print your photo repair file larger than the original, increase the dpi in proportion to the amount you wish to increase the size of the print. For example, to start with a 4x6 photo you want to print 8x12, double the dpi of your scan. To print your original at four times its original size from the file we generate for you, multipy 300dpi by 4 for your scan. This will ensure optimum results.
Scan must be "rgb color" even if it is a black and white photo. Typically, you will have a "color photo" setting on your scanner.
Make sure any enhancement features your scanner has are turned "off". Check any "advanced settings" in your scanner.
In the unhappy event your photo is framed and stuck to the glass--clean the outside surface of the glass (removed from the frame) and scan it through the glass. This usually works just fine.
E-mail your scan to us, using one of the "Send Your Photo File/s" links, and include instructions or questions in your e-mail.
